A few years into my career as a marketing account manager in the environmental industry, I decided to take a leap of faith and return to school to earn my master's in interior design.

I've tried, but am unable to shake my background in the left-brain worlds of science and marketing strategy--so, naturally, I'm drawn to genres of design that employ a distinct concept or goal, as well as an intentional strategy to achieve that goal--a process that reaches for a result beyond mere aesthetics and color-matching.

While interior design grounded in a concept of maintaining a brand identity (i.e., hospitality or office design) excites me, I would love an opportunity to combine interior design with my undergraduate studies in geography and environmental geoscience to use design on a scale larger than just a building's interior.
